Just up the hill from the edge of the River Fowey, in the tranquil village of Golant, Camellia Cottage is the perfect hideaway. It is a delightful place to return to after exploring the beaches or picturesque harbours of Fowey and Mevagissey, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.
The semi-detached cottage has a fantastic garden where the mature camellia trees, from which the cottage gets its name, flowers profusely in the spring. An ideal place for a BBQ or glass of wine on the patio watching the sun going down.
Camellia Cottage has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge which overlooks the patio garden with an open fire and a bathroom with shower. It is a comfortable size for a couple or young family of up to four persons or two plus one.
The accommodation has just recently been refurbished to a high standard throughout.
A stable-door takes you into the open plan living-room. Here the luxurious furnishings and richly patterned rug on the slate floor make the room cosy and inviting, further enhanced by the beamed ceiling and the multi-burner in the inglenook which makes a roaring open fire in the evenings. Located off the living room is the new luxury bathroom, large and modern with slate floor and under floor heating, heated towel rail, luxury power shower cubicle, chair, WC and basin and complimentary toiletries.
Stairs lead from the newly fitted kitchen/dining area to the two bedrooms. Bedroom one has wonderful views of the creek and surrounding valley, and contains a double decorative French antique bed complete with luxurious pillows and linen and original wooden floor. Bedroom two has white wooden bunk beds and has been decorated in a nautical theme, also provided the best linen as before.

About The Area:
Golant overlooks the Fowey estuary, is just four miles from the sea and is a great base for discovering Cornwall. River excursions are available throughout the summer from Fowey. The Saints Way Path is located in the village of Golant which provides spectacular scenery for walks along the river Fowey and leads to all the coastal paths.
There is a fantastic local pub in Golant which serves excellent food that can be eaten out on the large patio over looking the river. Also within the village is an Art gallery displaying local artists work, and a post office. There is also local produce sold at a weekly farmers market.
The sandy beaches of Polkerris, Readymoney (Fowey) or Par sands are all within 5 minutes by car. If you wish to visit Padstow or any of the North Coast beaches or attractions these are still only 45 minutes drive away which makes Camellia Cottage a perfect place for touring all Cornwall has to offer.
Nearby local attractions include the world famous Eden Project, Bodmin Moor, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Dobwalls Family Adventure Park. Further afield, why not try eating at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall at Watergate Bay or at one of Rick Stein's restaurants in Padstow both of which are located on Cornwall's north coast.
